Deadline for NPOs to File 2023 Annual Reports Extended

Due to the Swords of Iron War and the state of emergency, the Registrar of Amutot and Endowments published a new directive extending the deadlines for NPOs to file their 2023 annual reports in order to enable them to obtain a Certificate of Proper Management for 2025.

As a rule, the Associations Law (Amutot Law), 5740-1980 and the Companies Law, 5759-1999, prescribe that Amutot and public benefit companies (PBCs) are obligated to file annual reports by June 30 of the year immediately following the year under report (considering the lengthy filing arrangements that are usually agreed upon annually between the Registrar of Amutot and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants).

This year, in order to assist Amutot and PBCs that have not yet completed their reports and have not yet filed an application for a Certificate of Proper Management, an extension for filing the 2023 annual reports has been granted until December 1, 2024.

The directive emphasizes that this extension also applies to Amutot and to PBCs that received a Certificate of Proper Management for 2024-2025, and are obligated to file their 2023 annual reports as a precondition to the continued validity of their Certificate of Proper Management for 2025.
