Together is global

Infrastructure / Energy

The firm advises its clients on all stages of energy infrastructure projects, including those generated by water, gas, and solar power. We act for our clients throughout all phases of a project.

This includes preparing submissions for public and private tenders, as well as drafting and negotiating complex EPC, O&M, concession, consortium, partnership, and subcontractor agreements. We also assist in applying for permits, and offer day-to-day support in dispute resolution.

The team advises energy companies and agricultural settlements with many renewable energy projects on agricultural lands. The latter hold significant potential for achieving the Israeli government’s energy independence targets. Our work includes providing legal support for land-based projects, including integrated storage, independent storage (high voltage and extra-high voltage), dual-use projects, agro-voltaic initiatives, and more.

Project Experience

The team has garnered extensive experience, including by way of supporting the Snir project on Kibbutz Tze’elim in collaboration with Shikun & Binui, representing a pumped-storage project on one of the largest kibbutzim in northern Israel, agro-voltaic projects on agricultural lands, the pumped-storage power station in the Gilboa region, the power station in Mishor Rotem, the combined-cycle power plant on Kibbutz Dalia at Tzafit, the gas turbine at the Ashdod power station, and two thermo-solar power plants in Ashalim.

International and Local Recognition

Local and international legal directories recognize us as leaders in the energy field. For example, prestigious directory The Legal 500 ranks us as a leading Israeli law firm. It quotes sources who say, “Barnea’s team has a lot of experience and know-how in the energy market.” The guide also highlights Barnea’s provision of a “high-quality level of service.”
