Kibbutz Ruhama Signs Agreement to Host Kfar Aza Evacuees

On April 23, 2025, an official agreement was signed between Kibbutz Ruhama – a client of our firm – and the Tekuma Administration together with the Settlement Division, to facilitate the absorption of approximately 520 residents of Kibbutz Kfar Aza. This agreement marks a significant milestone in a process that began in February 2024, during which two designated neighborhoods were established in Kibbutz Ruhama to serve as a temporary home for the displaced residents until their return to their permanent homes in Kfar Aza. The signing concludes a lengthy and complex negotiation process and signifies the beginning of practical implementation and joint community preparation – a testament to the mutual responsibility and social resilience that characterize rural settlement in Israel.

Barnea: Representing Phoenix Mortgages (Gold) Ltd. in Framework Agreement for Older Kibbutz Members

Our firm represented Phoenix Mortgages (Gold) Ltd. in signing a framework agreement with the Kama Fund (from the Kibbutz Movement). As part of the agreement, Kama will provide a guarantee to Phoenix for the “gold loans” it grants to kibbutz members over the age of 60 for purchasing housing in kibbutzim. A gold loan can be repaid even after the borrower’s life expectancy and is secured by encumbering the borrower's rights in the residential property attributed to it. Hagit Ben Moshe, the head of our firm’s kibbutz sector practice, and Hani Shraier represented Phoenix.

FIMI Acquires Control of Amiad Water Systems

FIMI Opportunity Funds, a private investment fund, recently completed the acquisition of control of public company Amiad Water Systems Ltd. Micky Barnea represented Hachoshlim Fund Cooperative Agricultural Society Ltd., Amiad's largest shareholder, in the deal.
