Globes' “Three Cases of the Week”: Motion for Class Certification Against Azorim Dismissed
Barnea: Representing Aviv Group in Administrative Petition
Adv. Zohar Lande, Adv. Adi Shoham, Adv. Shay Bello, and Adv. Anna Elenport represent Aviv Group in an administrative petition filed against the Herzliya Municipality. The petition was filed after the municipality undertook to approve a development plan for land within a year, a condition precedent to the transfer of the land to Aviv. The municipality, however, has yet to review the plan. Aviv is currently bearing the financial cost, even as construction is not expected to start any time soon.
Representing Bank Hapoalim in Class Action Suit
Adv. Eyal Nachshon, Adv. Zohar Haim Levinger, and Adv. Anna Elenport represented Bank Hapoalim in a class action lawsuit filed by the Association of Representatives of Society and the Environment. The motion for certification claims that the bank charged excessive exchange fees when converting monies in foreign currency. The court rejected the motion out of hand and stated that its submission constitutes bad faith conduct and misuse of a legal process.
