Inon Yogev, a partner in our Infrastructure and Project Finance Department, lectured today as part of a seminar on the establishment of P.F.I projects in the defense sector. In attendance were senior officials from the Ministry of Defense and the IDF.

Our firm represented JJDC in its follow on investment in the Israeli medtech company DayTwo, as part of a $31 million series B round.  

Our firm hosted an event in cooperation with the Israeli Investor Relations Forum on investor relations and corporate responsibility. We lectured on how corporate responsibility is perceived by regulators.

Our firm represented Israel Natural Gas Lines (INGL) in the conclusion of a detailed agreement with Greek company Energean for the transfer of the near shore and onshore part of the pipeline that will deliver gas from the Karish and Tanin FPSO into the Israeli national gas transmission grid. As consideration, INGL will pay Energean 369 million NIS.

Max, of Leumi Card, and Pipelbiz, the first and largest equity crowdfunding platform in Israel, have launched a new program for entrepreneurs. Program members include both fintech and insuretech startups. Our firm was chosen to serve as the initiative's legal partner. The startups recently visited our firm, where we lectured about crowdfunding regulation in Israel and abroad, as well as about challenges and opportunities in this field.

Our firm represented Axcel in the acquisition of Phase One from Silverfleet Capital. Axcel is a leading Nordic private equity firm focusing on mid-market companies. It has a broad base of both Nordic and international investors.

Adv. Hagit Ben Moshe, Partner and Head of the Kibbutz Sector at our firm, participated in the Economic Conference of the Kibbutz Industry and lectured on the gap between the desire to increase the agricultural value chain and regulation.

Our Real Estate Department is representing the entrepreneurs and some of the residents in an evacuation and reconstruction project on Hagdud Haivri St. in Givat Olga, Hadera.

We led a panel on the subject of the legal advisor as a legal crisis facilitator at the annual conference of the Association of Corporate Counsel in Israel. Present at the conference were outgoing Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and other senior legal officials.

Yuval Lazi, a partner in our Corporate Department, lectured today on the Cinderella stories of young companies to entrepreneurs taking part in AtoBe, the Azrieli College of Engineering's startup accelerator.

Adv. Gal Livshits, a partner in our Litigation Department, published an op-ed in Calcalist on the State's attempt to evade payment of a reward to the finders of the body of missing soldier Majdi Halabi following the Supreme Court's ruling that it is obligated to pay.

The Lawyer magazine focused this month on the innovation scene in Israel and interviewed leading lawyers, including Simon Jaffa, to better understand the local legal environment. During the interview, Simon discussed how legislation can often lag behind technological developments. He noted that the most important job for tech lawyers is to help startup clients take calculated risks. This means not just telling clients what they can't do, but also understanding risks, evaluating potential exposure, and helping management make decisions that are right for the company.

Micky Barnea, Ariella Dreyfuss, Itay Gura and Mayer Winkler represented Johnson & Johnson Innovation in an investment round in the Israeli medtech startup Techsomed Medical Technologies Ltd. Founded in 2012, Techsomed has developed an image analysis system that helps track tissue response to thermal ablation, the process of destroying tumors using extreme heat or cold. Techsomed intends to use the funding toward receiving regulatory approval in the US, Europe, and Japan.

JJDC led the company's current round of financing, which included both former and new investors, such as Screen Holdings, the Alfred Mann Institute at the Technion (AMIT), NextLeap Ventures, and Axil Capital.

Our firm hosted a delegation of German Companies, part of the Tech7 collaboration with SCE in the BIPA program (Bavarian Israeli Partnership Accelerator).

Adv. Anat Even-Chen in an interview for TheMarker in response to an investigation launched by the Irish Data Protection Commission against Google for violating the GDPR Regulations. According to Anat, the investigation focuses on the service of Internet advertising, and its findings may affect many companies around the world and in Israel, which operate in the field of Adtech.

Our firm is representing the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Internal Auditors in a petition with the Supreme Court against the Government Companies Authority (GCA). It is requesting that the court revoke the GCA circular stating that an internal auditor of government companies rated 7 and above must be a salaried employee and not outsourced. The petition was filed by Advs. Zohar Lande, Eyal Nachshon, and Adi Shoham of the Litigation Department.
