Our firm hosted the Israeli Directors' Union for a seminar on multi-jurisdictional litigation. The seminar examined the considerations when a corporate crisis breaks out and a company's board of directors and management are required to build a multi-jurisdictional litigation package. The seminar was held in collaboration with Dechert LLP. Adv. Hadar Israeli lectured on managing a legal crisis when a conflict of interest exists between management and the board.

Hagit Ben Moshe published an op-ed in Globes' Real Estate Supplement on a district court ruling about the regulation of agricultural land use. According to Hagit, the ruling indicates a trend of harsher enforcement and signals that all agricultural communities must act without delay to regulate land use.

Globes published an op-ed by Micky Barnea on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's latest move to attract new investors with a public offering of its shares. According to Micky, "This listing could be a turning point in anticipation of a long-awaited change, bringing a revival of the stock exchange and the domestic capital market."

Our firm served along with US attorneys as representation for Lee Elbaz, the CEO of Yukom Communications, in her criminal trial in the United States. Lee was convicted of binary options fraud in August and sentenced last week. Adv. Hadar Israeli, who represented Elbaz from her arrest, were interviewed by the media following the sentencing in a Maryland federal court. According to Hadar, "The degree of harshness in US prosecutorial policies and in sentences for economic offenses is infinitely higher than in Israel."

The Tel Aviv District Court dismissed a NIS 239 million claim filed by David Appel against Michael Cherney and our client Zeev Rom on statute-of-limitation grounds and fined him attorneys' fees. Zeev Rom was represented by Advs. Zohar Lande and Moran Bickel from our Litigation Department.

We hosted today a meetup for female entrepreneurs in the ecommerce field. Harel Perlmutter and Anat Even-Chen lectured to the participants on the taxation and regulatory issues that could affect them.

Our firm represented Sartorius, a leading multinational corporation in the field of life science, research and development  and biopharmaceutical industry, in a transaction to acquire a majority stake in the Israeli cell culture developer Biological Industries. Sartorius acquired the majority of Biological Industries shares by way of secondary purchase of shares from the Development Company of Kibbutz Beit Haemek and private equity fund Fortissimo Capital, in consideration for USD 50 million. In addition, as part of the transaction, Sartorius and the Development Company of Kibbutz Beit Haemek signed an option to purchase/sell additional holdings in the future.

Our firm hosted together with the crowdfunding platform Pipelbiz a meetup for real estate entrepreneurs. We lectured on raising capital for real estate projects through crowdfunding platforms, as well as real estate financing options, preconditions to raising money through a crowdfunding intermediary, and borrowing and investment disabilities.

Hagit Ben Moshe lectured today at the Land Management Forum for kibbutz officers. Hagit provided an overview of recent rulings on the historical real estate rights of kibbutzim.
