IT Cartel Case: An Unusual Acquittal in Criminal Competition Proceedings
Calcalist covered the exceptional ruling issued by the Israeli District Court in the IT cartel case, one of the leading criminal proceedings in the field of competition law in recent years. Adv. Gal Rozent and Dr. Ran Karmi of our Antitrust and Competition Department represented Mr. Haim Shohat, who was fully acquitted, leading also to the acquittal of Matrix, the corporation whose actions were attributed to him. As the only acquittal in the case, this outcome marks a significant and exceptional achievement, particularly in light of the very low acquittal rates in criminal proceedings generally and cartel cases in particular.
