Barnea Represented Azrieli Group in a Class Action Suit

Advs. Zohar Lande, Eyal Nachshon, and Omer Keydar of Barnea's Litigation Department represented Azrieli Group in a class action suit for not displaying a price per unit of measure for certain products on its e-commerce website. A settlement was reached in the suit.

Supreme Court Ruling: RGE Group to Operate Knesset Channel

The Supreme Court issued a ruling today rejecting the petitions of News 2 and Channel 20 against the decision to announce RGE as the winner of the Knesset channel tender. This paves the way for the operation of the Knesset channel by RGE as early as August 1, 2018. Israeli Court Scrutiny Over Decisions of a Board of an Israeli NASDAQ Traded Company in a Proxy Fight

Recently, a four month proxy fight over control of an Israeli incorporated NASDAQ traded company was settled, following a series of proceedings held before the Tel Aviv District Court. At a crucial juncture, the Tel Aviv Court was asked to issue a temporary injunction over a transaction initiated by the board, which included a highly dilutive (24.9%) issuance of shares.

An Israeli court has ordered to halt an investment deal in Arcturus Therapeutics, pending clarification of the lawsuit filed by Joseph Payne, the company's founder, regarding the cancellation of his dismissal as CEO. This decision was made despite the fact that the company operates in the United States with American management. Israeli Supreme Court Ruling: Property Buyer Required to Pay Betterment Tax if Seller Is Incapable Due to Insolvency Proceedings

According to a ruling handed down recently by the Israeli Supreme Court, when a real estate asset is sold before the seller enters bankruptcy proceedings, and the seller has not paid the betterment tax, the local council is not obligated to grant the buyer approval for registering the property under his name. Thus, the buyer will be required to pay the betterment tax.
