Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Publishes ESG Questionnaire

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) published a questionnaire on corporate social responsibility for listed companies for the first time on April 17, 2023. The TASE published the questionnaire with the goals of expanding listed companies’ reporting of their ESG (environmental, social, and governance) activities and enabling investors to receive more information about companies’ performance in relation to corporate social responsibility.

The publication of the questionnaire aligns with global trends and reflects the importance of this subject for investors. According to the TASE press release, only 70 companies currently publish full ESG reports.  The TASE examined similar questionnaires from around the world and adapted its questionnaire to companies traded on the TASE. The questionnaire is in English and includes dozens of questions covering ESG activities.

Companies who chose to take part in the questionnaire will be asked to answer the following:

• Yes or no questions.
• Questions that require accurate numeric data.
• As not all questions are relevant to all types of companies, a “not relevant” answer may be applicable.

The TASE questionnaire constitutes additional recognition of the importance of ESG performance to investors and to international companies. It proves once again that this is a trend gaining momentum and slowly becoming an integral part of the business landscape.
